Your girl comes home after a challenging day at school and recounts a conversation with her teacher, in which he said, “Do you believe in faith or science? It can’t be both.” She’s distraught and confused. How do you guide her?
First, take hold of the wrong assumption that faith and science are pitted against one another. God is the author of science. Our faith in God the Creator means we lean on His design and His work. Science explains what God has already finished.
Now, tell your girl the good news—she has a chance to offer her teacher the Gospel truth through ongoing conversations in the school year. Empower her to speak Biblically—in grace and truth. Finally, pray for boldness, love, and a sound mind. The Lord will work through her.
