Have you ever said to a friend, “I’m on my way!” when in reality, you’re still at home, searching frantically for your keys? Look, no one’s perfect, but it’s how we own up to our shortcomings that creates a model of accountability for our girls.
In order to expect your daughter to be accountable for her actions, you must be held to your own. It’s when your daughter hears you say “Honestly, I’m running a little behind, but as soon as I find the keys I’ll be on my way” that shows her honesty and accountability.
Hebrews 10:24 reads “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Model accountability for your girl so she might mimic your good deeds.
