Teach Her Heart to be On Mission Everyday

Any experienced admissions counselor will tell you that prospective college freshmen love to write one type of application essay in particular–-the “Mission Trip Essay.” In these sorts of essays, high school seniors write about the time they spent in an impoverished country or region of the United States, how they’re a changed person because of it.

Those are valid and important stories to tell, because mission trips are a worthwhile and God-ordained event for those who embark and follow the call. It’s an experience, though, that not all Christians will encounter.

But what if every day was treated like a mission trip? Think of a world where Christians treated the many individuals they encounter on a daily basis with the same kindness, grace, and care shown during a time in the mission field. If we raised our girls to be godly examples of compassion in everyday situations in addition to the extraordinary ones, might our world be a better place?
