Stonewalling at Bedtime? Seek Peace Before Sleep.

How is the relationship temperature between you and your girl after a disagreement? If her default setting is the cold, silent treatment—or stonewalling—this could breed an exhausting future of manipulation games between the two of you. One seeks the other’s pursuit but isn’t willing to come to the middle of the reconciliation bridge. Even if you knew this as normal in your own upbringing, it is far from healthy.

Paul warns in Ephesians not to “let the sun go down upon your anger.” Just as God seeks reconciliation and restoration, pursue the same with your girl. Seek face-to-face conversation and work through the layers of her upset heart—even if it happens at the bedtime hour. You’ll both rest better knowing the Lord’s peace in each of your hearts.

Ephesians 4:26, ESV
