Remember the days when you spent hours in the summer building tree houses with the neighbors and ran around the backyard catching fireflies? These types of “free-range” activities are sadly experienced less and less by today’s youth.
The term “Free-Range Parenting” refers to creating time and space for your girl’s exploration and learning without “hovering.”
At points in your girl’s development, it’s critical to allow her opportunities for free-range discovery. For example, if she has an interest in plants and nature, take her to a local botanical garden, letting her wonder and learn. If she has a heart for children in need, sign her up to volunteer at a nearby orphanage.
Giving her free-range for discovery may be the key that unlocks her calling.
