“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine” It’s a lullaby sung to babies for generations. As you enter your daughter’s teenage years “Good morning sunshine” might come with a slightly sarcastic tone. But parents know one thing to be true—children, in any age or stage, are a reminder of God’s love for us. Tiny miracles, shining His love, purity, and beauty to the world. 

As Christ-followers, the Lord has placed His Light within us to SHINE. Our relationship with Christ allows us to SHINE His love, kindness, forgiveness, and His many attributes for others to see—reflecting the His glory! 

Today, remind your daughter that while she is “your sunshine”, that light she shines is ultimately that of Christ! Even on dark days, He is for us, He is with us, and He is shining through us.
