Do you feel like the publicist for every good thing in your daughter’s life? You can find yourself saying things like “Carrots will give you perfect vision!” or “A social media fast will change your life!” You peddle the benefits of healthy living, often to an unreceptive audience. Your statements might be true for you, but they can seem like a stretch to her.
While you may be able to convince her to eat another serving of veggies or unplug from the phone, your daughter’s faith isn’t something she can be coerced into. We are called to share our faith, yes, but be careful that your daughter’s faith isn’t just yours being reflected back at you.
Believers aren’t just convinced but convicted. Cultivating your daughter’s personal walk with Christ is essential in building a lifelong faith.
