It’s no secret why girls today want everything at the snap of their fingers. Beauty bloggers advertise products that promise them clear complexions overnight, so why bother with daily hygiene routines? Streaming television shows online means the next episode will play in four seconds—forget about waiting a whole week! The entirety of the world’s knowledge is one internet search away, so why feel the need to study? The list goes on and on.
Girls today expect their problems to disappear instantly and their desires to be fulfilled just as quickly—but what if they learned to trust in God and His plan?
God’s word in the Book of Proverbs, tells us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Develop your daughter’s sense of patience by encouraging to take up a new hobby, sport, or skillset that takes time to develop. Embolden her in periods of frustration and doubt and help her to trust in God’s timing. Give her the tool of prayer to connect her with the Father and be sure to pray for your daughter and for the Holy Spirit to equip her with a spirit of patience.
