“Ugh! I don’t have anything to wear!” Whether you’re a girl or woman, this happens often while standing in front of your closet. Where does this exasperation come from? Could it be yearning to keep up with fashion trends, or is there a deeper issue of contentment at play?
In Philippians, Paul dubs contentment a heartset tracking through every situation. No matter his circumstances, Paul was content because God—the provider and source of his contented heart—always gave enough for Paul’s needs.
The next time you and your girl stand in front of your closet, take hold of the “nothing to wear” moment. Contentment comes from God, not the tangible blessings He bestows. So, thank God for what He’s given you, then say out loud, “It is enough, and I am content.”
Philippians 4:11-13
