Learning Her Family Heritage Helps Secure Your Girl’s Identity

Whether your girl is 5 or 15, she is discovering her unique identity. She may discover pieces of herself through sports, hobbies, or subjects she enjoys in school. Our likes and dislikes are just part of our personalities—family also plays a role in shaping who we are!

Each family’s history has a fascinating story to be told. Together with your girl, research your ancestors and start a record, similar to how Jesus’s lineage is listed in Matthew’s Gospel! If your girl is named after a family member, research the life of this ancestor and discover their unique story. You might even discover a striking family resemblance!

A lot goes into shaping a girl’s identity. Ultimately, as Christians, our identity lies in being part of the family of God!

Matthew 1:1-17, ESV
