Keep an Open Conversation with Your Girl about Video Chat Dangers

Since our girls use technology frequently, it’s important that we are up to date on the latest tech trends.   

The newest trend? There’s a new breed of app being promoted around social media, often in the second slide of a video on Instagram or posted all over TikTok—the live video chat apps. And I don’t mean FaceTiming grandma or Zoom meetings with friends kind of video chat, I mean randomized, “video chat with cool strangers, make new friends” type apps. Scary, right?  

Take control over the situation by having an open conversation with your girl about these kinds of apps and the dangers they hold. Then, dig deeper—if she is wanting to use these apps, find a different way to fulfill her God-given desire to be in community in a safer, offline environment!
