In 2015, 285 girls in India participated in a renaming ceremony. Their given names translated to mean “unwanted.” Can you imagine walking through life with “unwanted” as your identity? The girls dressed in their best and chose new names that they felt encompasses their path in life. Names meaning “very tough,” “beautiful” or “good.”  

How can you affirm your girl’s wanted status by God and by your family? Genesis 1:31 says God looked over all His creation and blessed it by saying “It is very good.”  

Likewise, your girl’s place in God’s heart is very good by design. She can’t earn that, and no one can take that from her. Remind her that God’s path for her life is very good, and He will help her every step of the way.
