Self-sabotage is defined as the behaviors or thought patterns that hold someone back. This behavior can rear its ugly head in a lot of different ways including blaming others, procrastination, putting yourself down…the list goes on and on.
Girls who struggle with self-sabotage are often in need of a mindset shift. Recognizing what triggers her self-sabotaging tendencies, like boredom or fear, gives her the chance to refocus her energy toward eradicating these harmful habits.
The antithesis of self-sabotage is self-care, and going even deeper than that, soul-care. Giving our girls Christ-honoring coping mechanisms, like prayer, Bible journaling, and therapeutic conversation with a trusted spiritual advisor allows them the chance to overcome their own anxieties and blossom into the beautiful, fruitful life God has in store.
