Perfection seems to be the driver for girls in today’s culture. From looks to grades, from athletics to achievement, it appears that girls seek confirmation of who they are by crafting perfect lives through all sorts of filters.
God requires no filter. He desires only our sincere presence. Our girls have been created in His divine image with gifts and talents unique to each of them. Teach your girl that she is wonderfully made just as she is. Her worth is not contingent upon flawlessness.
Matthew shares, “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.”
To God, she is even more beautiful than the flowers. She is His beloved creation. Today and always, we need her presence, not her perfection.
Matthew 6:28, NIV
