Say “authority”, and your girl probably thinks about your parental authority over her—that her parents are in charge. Authority, in is a word, meaning “control.”
But beyond the parental variety, authority can be a tool we give our girls to take control over the things in life that can feel overwhelming. For your girl, that could mean a pop-quiz in chemistry or the dreaded parallel parking section of the road test. Encourage her to say “I take authority over this!” Self-talk is an incredible tool!
The enemy can instill a feeling of defeat in our lives, he can make us feel incapable and powerless in the face of difficulty…. But God! … We know that God rules with all authority and Ephesians reminds us that we are empowered through His Spirit!
