Your daughter is living through what can feel like one of the most divisive times in America.

What is she seeing and hearing in your house? Is it empathy and respect for others, or is it vitriol and taunting? Is she surrounded by adults who teach her to listen, learn, and be a responsible citizen of our nation?

As we near the end of a presidential term and the start of a new one, remind your daughter that no president is the savior of the country—we already have a Savior, and His name is Jesus Christ. Remind her of her “dual citizenship”—she is a citizen of this country, but she is also a citizen of Heaven. With this calling comes a great responsibility to love others and treat all people with kindness.
