At the end of a long school day, a challenging rehearsal, or a tough game, does your daughter look forward to walking through the front door and just being home, or would she rather go somewhere else?
If she’d rather be anywhere but with your family, ask yourself: what’s keeping her from enjoying the sanctuary of home? Could it be the lack of space to unwind?
Set aside a space in your home, like a small closet or corner, to be a sanctuary—a quiet, devoted space that allows her to unwind and connect with God. String up lights, add cozy blankets, and keep a family Bible there. Give her the space to form healthy spiritual habits and stress coping mechanisms.
