If your daughter confesses that she likes a boy from the neighborhood and she wants to be his girlfriend, what do you say? Let’s guess what you’re thinking. “Oh no, she’s way too young!”, “Boys are trouble; I don’t want a boy anywhere near my little girl!”, “She’s not ready for potential heartbreak! God help me!”
Before immediately reciting the list of reasons she’s not allowed to date, (It’s tempting, trust us, we know!) Take a deep breath; remember you were once in her shoes.
Teach your girl what Paul describes in 1 Corinthians. Singleness is a gift, an opportunity to deepen her devotion and communion with God. Remind her: Christ yearns for her and wants to shower her with his unending love.
