Yelling Mom Doesn’t have to be the Norm for Your Family

Parenting isn’t for the faint hearted, and it can drive a mom to—literally—her wit’s end at times. While yelling in the heat of a frustrated moment is common, a mama doesn’t have to make it her norm.

When you lash out at your girl, she learns—to cower when mom is angry, to disconnect emotionally, and to yell in her own motherhood someday. But when the Holy Spirit gently and firmly renews your mind, each time you choose self-control, you rewire your brain to self-regulate. He brings healing to places perhaps you also learned rage as a girl.

In moments that go off the rails, be sure to circle back to your girl and ask for her forgiveness, repairing the broken places and bringing the Lord’s peace back into your home.

Galatians 5:22-23
