Information: When Too Much is Too Much

American teens average nine screen time hours each day. During that time, they send an average of 60 texts, scroll social media, binge watch shows—oftentimes attempting to multitask with school work. They’re doing too much and taking in too much—a recipe for overwhelm.

As Christian parents, we recognize our daughters face a whole new set of challenges that we didn’t growing up. Namely the instant access to information. While God is all-knowing, we are not—we aren’t meant to be.

Psalm 139:17-18 speaks to the vast expanse of God’s thoughts but emphasizes that He chooses to delight in each of us. If your daughter is struggling with the weight of the world’s sorrows and constant information, remind her that the burden belongs to our Sovereign God and she is kept by Him.
