The Spiritual Root of Telling Tall Tales

Does your girl have an over-active imagination with a tendency to tall-tales? As a little girl, this can be considered cute. But as she grows, exaggeration comes with risk—building up her own accolades, or even by recalling a story inaccurately to paint herself as the victim to garner sympathy. No matter the direction, embellishment holds roots in a dishonest heart.

Apart from the issue of her integrity, your girl’s heart might also swell with pride. The more she turns truth—little by little—the more comfortable she grows with lying.

Pray Psalm 120, verse 2 over your daughter if she continually struggles with twisting the truth, in small or big ways. The Holy Spirit is the changer of hearts. He is faithful to cultivate a truthful heart in your girl.

Psalm 120:2
