Historically, a post-high-school faith exodus typically happened once a family’s child turned 18 when they chose not to attend weekly worship services or live out their faith. With the ever-present use of social media apps, we are now seeing adolescents abandon their faith earlier.
The drift, previously described as “the slow fade,” now is marked by a worldly-justified offloading of one’s faith. Want to prevent the drift? First, pray against the parent-fear creeping up and ask the Holy Spirit to equip you today and everyday forward. You were made to influence your girl—so take heart!
Next, make a practice of ongoing Gospel-conversations with your girl. Literally, take every training conversation back to the Good News of Christ thereby instilling a lifelong, accessible faith—one she understands and has tools to live out.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
