The power of expectation is real. Think you’re going to have a bad day and it will likely happen. But with a positive expectation, you might be able to persevere through a not-so-great day and come out feeling okay. For girls struggling with negativity, setting a positive mindset is one step toward overcoming the struggle of daily stress.
Of course, the last thing you should ever say to someone with anxiety or depression is “just be happy!” But encouraging your girl to make consistent, daily attempts at adopting a positive mindset can prove helpful.
By adopting a spirit of positivity, we’re placing our hope and trust in God just as Psalm 62:8 instructs: “Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
