Our God is the same God who created every hair on your girl’s head and the vast expanses of the universe. It’s easy to see why your daughter might feel intimidated by the magnitude of God. She may even be led to believe she should be afraid of God—ever heard the term “God-fearing woman”?
Proverbs 31 tells us that a “woman who fears the Lord is to be praised,” but we’re also repeatedly told in the Word “do not fear”. So, which is it?
It’s important to teach your girl that the word fear in the context of God-fearing isn’t avoiding, running away, or shaking in our boots kind of fear. It’s reverence—and that is something to strive for in her Christian walk.
