The word “follower” today has cultural ties to social media. And racking up followers equates with credibility or value in the public’s mind. However, what happens when your girl follows a famous Christian influencer who has a moral failure? Does she feel like the Gospel rug got pulled out from under her? While she tends to revere Christian influencers, they are not infallible—meaning without error. All humans have the capacity to fail or sin.  

In First Corinthians, Paul warned Christians about confessing their allegiance to various teachers who were mere humans and, thus, bound to fail their trust. Have a chat with your girl about mindfully placing her identity in Christ and following His teaching—after all, He is the only perfect one, and He will never let her down!
