Your Girl’s Inner Voice Sounds a lot Like Yours

Have you ever heard a kid use comically grown-up language? Anyone whose kid has called them “honey” or “babe” knows how funny this can be! Our kids, even the littlest ones, are repeating our own dialogue back to us. The same goes for the words you aren’t hearing, those of their inner voice.

I’ve heard it said that “how we talk to our kids becomes their inner voice.” Confident kids are raised not by beating the drum of perfection, but by recognizing difficulty and encouraging the art of overcoming.

Godly girls of grit and grace know they are chosen, beloved, and capable in the eyes of God. Giving your girl a bedrock of support and speaking Scripture over her life opens the door to positive self-talk and a reliance on God in all difficulties.
