You Are Not Her “Bruh”, You’re Her Mom

It’s Saturday morning. You gingerly enter your girl’s room to wake her up, but she’s less than thrilled with open curtains and sunshine. The next moment is awkward when your girl casually refers to you as “Bruh!” What just happened?

Whether comical or annoying, your girl might have missed the memo that you’re not her “bruh” you’re her mom. So, even at 9:00am on a Saturday, one casual comment might bear a conversation over breakfast.

It’s true: you love your girl. But the relationship between mother and daughter is so much deeper than a pal. Proverbs 31, verse 28 tells of honor expressed from Godly children to their mother. Gently remind her that she’ll always be your girl and you’ll always be her mom, a role that God ordained and she should honor.
