Why the Practice of Silence before the Lord is Nourishing to Her Soul

Take a breath and soak in a moment of silence. How often are you and your girl able to string together many of these moments with the intent to commune with the Lord? In our hyperconnected world, silence is a rare occasion. And silence with the Lord is even more scarce!

Psalm 46:10 gently commands us to “be still”. While this sounds excruciating for the girl whose hands are accustomed to busy, busy, busy—the practice is life-giving. If she is young, she might need help carving out the practice of God-time, so walk her through it. This might give opportunity for your own lacking “be still” time.

Whether the silent time is spent reading the Bible or praying, your girl will be nourished in the process!

Psalm 46:10, ESV
