What’s Really on Her Mind are the Markers of Anxiety

There’s a phrase a lot of us use on a daily basis without realizing its weight: “I just have a lot on my mind.” Seems simple right? But have you ever stopped to think about how maybe all of those zooming thoughts might actually be anxiety cloaked as “productivity” or “multi-tasking”?  

If you’re concerned your daughter might be struggling with this type of anxiety, don’t ignore the signs. Insomnia in children is a common warning sign. Obsessive tendencies and substance abuse are also ways anxious people try to calm their racing thoughts.  

If you find your girl is constantly wrapped up in anxious thoughts, encourage her to talk them out, journal them, and pray about them. So often when we vocalize our worries, we are able to erase them.
