Weave into your Daily Life Chances to Develop Social Skills in Your Girl

Fostering social skills early in life is a valuable skill that can be easily overlooked—after all, the mountain of schoolwork, the frenzied chauffeuring from dance to soccer to piano and back can leave little time to work one-on-one with your girl on something as “basic” as social skills. Right?

Consider creating a fill-in-the-blank journal with prompts for your girl like “Something I can do to cheer someone up” and “Ways to help another girl feel welcomed and included” and have quick check-ins when it works for both of you, like in the endless car-rides throughout the week!

Taking time to talk about real examples of being a kind, encouraging, Christ-like friend can make all the difference in raising a girl who notices the impact she has on others.
