Teach Her What Makes a Place Sacred

The Lincoln Memorial, Liberty Bell, and Vietnam Wall. Monuments are anchors marking our history. Visiting these locations helps us to remember, learn from, and pivot our ways into the future. If your family has visited any of the famous national monuments, you know how important these landmarks are.

The Old Testament is packed with places marked as sacred to God’s people—some of which can be visited today! Why is the Valley of Elah so important to those of us living 3,000 years later? Understanding David’s defeat of Goliath from First Samuel 17 also gives scope to God’s protection over Israel in the face of a much more powerful nation—the Philistines.

Teach your girl about why God makes a place sacred. Show her places the Lord watched over her life for His glory.
