Parenting a Girl Who Always Wants to Quit

Does your daughter fall into the cycle of starting a hobby and almost always quitting it a few months in? It’s likely more of a perfectionism issue than a commitment one. For achievement-driven girls, not being the best somehow equates to being the worst, and so, they quit.

The plague of perfectionism is the inherent belief that love is a result of achievement. Affirm your girls in the truth that both your love and God’s love come without stipulation. Guide her to Scriptures like 1 John 3:1 or Jeremiah 31:3 to fill her heart.

Challenge your girl to revisit an old hobby, just for the fun of it: dig out that tennis racquet, revisit the painting canvas. No competition, no lessons, just fun.
