Is Your Daughter Plagued by Self-Conscious Thoughts

It’s school picture day. Her outfit was chosen; her hairstyle was planned. But now that it’s time to get ready for school, all that goes out the window. Your girl is having a full-on meltdown, ransacking her closet claiming she has absolutely NOTHING to wear. It’s the all-too-common pre-teen plague of self-consciousness.

To combat paralyzing self-consciousness, we need to instill a sense of self-confidence in our girls. Fully-aware of her strength, beauty, ability—confident of who God made her to be.

Remind her of the confident and courageous women in the Bible—Ruth, Esther, Hannah, Deborah. Ask your daughter to identify traits she shares with these incredible women and how she can embrace these qualities to make today a better day.
